A message from the artist
My art depicts the transformative process that occurs in the merging of the human self with the soul. In the year 2000, I began using oil pastels to express this inner/outer experience.
I apply the pastels primarily by using various rubbing techniques with my fingers. I experience the color combinations as having their own sense of life, as they coalesce to provide the viewer with an image of the inner workings of transformation.
The Chakra System of energy vortexes is integral to my art. The rich and complex interplay of images and movement reflects the dynamic involved in the alignment process. Each work represents the creative energy that emanates from the merging of the human self with the soul.
The center point represents the soul's presence throughout our lives and our universal journey from and into Mystery.
Gazing at the images may allow you to go within to experience aspects of your personality and/or soul. In focusing on the colors and movement, you are invited to be aware of your current process of inner and outer work.
